Our vision is to raise up a grassroots army of missionary disciples who are formed, trained, and supported to do the work of evangelization in their homes, parishes and communities. We will accomplish this task by making our instruction as available as possible, networking and training.
“Missionary Disciples” is a phrase we hear often in the Church now but how exactly does your average Catholic parishioner become one?
With Formation,Training and Support:
Formation
Growing as a disciple means increasing in one’s understanding of the Faith and how it is lived. We see three clear areas of formation that are necessary: the Scriptures, the Catechism and in the practical issues of living our faith in the context of our family and culture. A succession of classes are offered over a three year period, that, when completed, can transform someone into an intentional, passionate follower of Jesus. These classes can be done over a series of weeks or over a weekend.
Training
We believe that evangelization is a skill that can be taught and practiced so that a disciple can become confident and effective in communicating the Good News of the the Gospel! Our workshops focus on relational evangelization, engaging conversations, apologetics, and the power of personal witness. We seek to help disciples embrace their calling to be missionaries, being led by the Spirit, looking and praying for opportunities to share their faith. We train and encourage disciples to become small group leaders. And finally, teach them the most powerful tool of evangelization we have; the offering of our lives, with the sacrifice of Christ at every Mass!
Support
Our desire is to build a community, a network of missionary disciples that are growing in faith and are supportive of each other’s missionary efforts. We believe in mentorship, personal relationships, and shared lives. We know that people are most effective when they are supported by a community of like minded friends.
